Okay, now this is a topic I talked about in my v-log, however when I was in the process of writing the book Pretty for a black girl I left it out. There has been just toooo many times someone has told me that my name was ghetto. I remember when my husband and I had just started dating; he called a friend of his on the east coast and told her about me. Her very first question was what is her name??? When he said Aisha! I overheard him laughing, and then he immediately started describing me. As soon!!!!as he got off of the phone, I asked him why was he describing me to someone and why was he laughing?? Well, he said her response to my name was “OHH so you have yourself a ghetto chick from the hood.” He said he was telling her all about me and then he describes the way I looked to her. I was sooooo upset because, for one -it’s was really none of her concern and for two -YOU CAN NOT JUDGE SOMEONE BY THERE NAME…… This was not the first time that-that was something that had been said to me whether it was directly (or) indirectly. A while back I was at this concert and a guy had approached me, we had small talk and shared a few smiles and laughs and then he asked me what was my name as soon as I told him my name was Aisha he laughed and said “you look like a Stacy, I can’t believe your name is Aisha. I’m sorry Shorty but I can’t be talking to no girl name Aisha.” he then said “you look to good for that name” and then recommended that I change it. I was so upset, I couldn’t believe how shallow this man was; good thing he said that because our conversation would not have got to far anyway. Well!!! To those people who have hated on me because of my name I just want to say that Aisha is a beautiful name and it means life. This name is very popular throughout the world. If any of my readers have any unique names, I just want to say be proud of your name and don’t let the ignorance of others bother you. I know people do judge when it comes to this topic I have heard a ear full. Not everyone wants their child to be a Tom, Sally, or Sue. NO offence Tom, Sally, or Sue you get my point.
Rock your name with LOVE
PEACE AND LOVE A.C

My name is Aishah and i’m 100% Asian. I’m half Chinese, half Indian. To everyone who has the name Aishah, be proud. It means ‘life’. How beautiful is that? In Persia, it is the name of the Moon Goddess. So be proud of the name Aishah!
