Hey Aisha, I agree she was waaaayyy out of line. He looked uncomfortable and I KNOW he was. But, I’ve been noticing it for a minute that Hollywood doesn’t respect God or the things of God. I really don’t think it was JUST her ignorance at play. If you look at various movies, TV shows,ART, Videos, & songs. They all make a mockery of the Lord ! We are truly in the end times, the signs are ALL around us. Monique should make a public apology to Pastor Sapp, and to her audience. Some of them ain’t even saved, and knew that wasn’t right !? Many people have stated that they won’t be watching anymore. Some have said until BET demands an apology from her. It’s one thing to clown with your secular guests, but a Man of God No way ! At first I was like WHY is he even on there, then I remembered he is also a business man. Monique has ruffled a LOT of feathers, and went TOO far this time.

I agree and so happy this is being discussed. I am a first time blogger, I just googled this to see if anyone had any disgust in Monique as I did. We have to take a stand for Christ. I too turned away after watching the show and refuse to watch it again although I really enjoyed the show. She just went to far and I believe her ratings should reflect that.

What did Marvin Sapp say or do? He should have said something.
She needs Christ and is a comedian at that. I agree with the article but I am not surprised by her actions.

You are right on point. We should not judge her, I just think she made a bad mistake. Granted we all do from time to time. I was shocked that he didn’t say anything to her but like everyones say’s it’s buisness. It’s a worldly show not a Chrsitians show. However, she should have used better judgment. Sorry… nobody hit it on the head. people of God must WAKE UP! Monique is a celebrity, a comedian, but most of all a sinner. Her actions shouldnt b a surprise. She doing what shes supposed to do(sin). Marvin Sapp on the other hand along with many other artists have compromised so much with the world that people dont respect them or the God they claim 2 serve. why should they?!They dont take a stand for holiness and its 4 the sake of money and fame. Christ didnt call His people to be celebrities. Hes at the worldly award shows so he gets treated like one of them thats his fault for compromising. and jus because u cry and snot and get chills when someone is singing dont make it anointed. The Bible says true anointing brakes yokes, yokes of bondage…SIN! Feel good for a minute , but no change, thats not the anointing. He should have taken the opp. to witness to her not tell her to b herself. The Bible says 2 follow Christ we must deny ourselves. He needs to repent and turn back to the Lord.she doesnt know better, however Marvin should.

@Fist Lady,I should have elaborated a little more on this topic, but I left it open for discussion. I was very shocked that he didn’t say anything also. However, he might not have been so suprised, that she did such a thing. Hopefully he said something after the show.
I have many family members and friends who are not saved and when ever I am in their presence if they slip up by the mouth, they always say I’m sorry or excuse me. So, even though Moniques a sinner, It doesn’t excuse the fact that she shouldn’t have common sense. Your also right it would have been a great opportunity to witness… God bless you and thank you….

Thank you so much for posting this Aisha. Fortunately, I actually missed the program. And even now I tried to watch it on my laptop but it didn’t work. So I guess it wasn’t for me to see or hear anyway. But I will say this, I am a current college student and in one of my classes that I’m enrolled in I sit around a few people who prefer to use profanity (in my pressence, even as a Christian). And just as Dr. Sapp, I am guilty of sitting and just brushing things off every 5 seconds these actual “self- proclaimed Christians” use a foul word. But really I’m cringing on the inside and I know there some indication of discomfort on my face whenever they do and say these things. I can’t help it. But I just wanted to confess this here to all the saints whose willing to read this. I have the Holy Ghost, which should bring about “boldness”. So where’s the disconnect? What do you think? And now that I’m thinking about it, I’ve never even prayed that the Lord would give me the boldness to speak up on mine and his behalf. These people know I’m a Christian, I had no problem confessing that. But again, I just had to confess. So thank you for letting me do that. I really want to be right in all my ways, as it pertains to the word of God. But just pray for me saints.

The people of God really need to read their Bibles. It shows in some of these the comments. They are so foolish. What is there for a saved person to be proud of Monique for. Who cares about her accomplishments! that shouldnt b our concern, but rather her soul. “What profits a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul”?? Remember only what u do for Christ will last. They can bury her with her golden globe award in her casket, but its not goin with her and if she dies in her state, without Jesus shes going to hell! too bad the compromising pastor failed to tell her that. Somebody needs to b honest and tell her the truth. However these “gospel” artists constantly compromise the true gospel for fortune, fame and popularity. The Bible says friendship with the world is enmity with God. He shouldnt have been on her show period. There was no point if he wasnt gonna tell her the truth. and if he was going to tell her back stage he really shouldnt have been on there. this is not his first time bein disrespected. D.L. Hughley did it to him too. when the world feels comfortable disrespecting you theres a problem on your part. year after year they pat steve harvey on the back for being a sinner in transition when n reality he is in danger of hell. its so sad that nobody is telling him the truth, that “if any man be in Christ he is a new creature. old things are passed away behold ALL things become new. But they laugh with him and sing nonbiblical songs to him. a saint is not a sinner! Thats not what the Bible says! And God didnt call us to be “professional” He called us to evangelize and be servants to Him.

I am so glad to see that so many people were as offended as I was. I could not believe she behaved this way in front of a man of GOD. There funny and then there is disrespect and Monique should be ASHAMED of herself. I know I was sitting there with my mouth open in total disbelief. The word says that in the last days men will become lovers of themselves and we see this coming to pass. I totally agree!I was disgusted,and embarassed for Marvin Sapp and especially Monique.She should be ashamed of herself!It’s a dangerous thing to make a mockery out of GOD,or a man of GOD.She owes him a public apology.I would have thought saved or unsaved she would’ve known better.This world is definitely coming to an end.She made a fool out of herself and tried to make a fool out of GOD and his people.If she doesn’t make it right she will have to answer to GOD one day!

Let’s be real: Monique acted exactly just like I thought she would. What you call “keeping it real”, I call disrespectful, boisterous and ignorant. But even with her ignorant behavior, I don’t blame her. She’s not saved, she is of this world, so she acted just like she was supposed to. My disappointment was with Pastor Sapp. You mean to tell me he could sit there and laugh along with her talking about “getting up in that ***”?? Seriously? When he came out she called him, “Pimpin”? He laughs. Strike one. He was prepared to answer the questions on those cards, which she casually threw away. He laughs. Strike two. Then she kept saying how he “be getting all up in that ***”. He laughs. Strike three. And the worse of it all he was skinning and grinning and yucking it all up right along with her. Talk about dining at the devil’s table. Monique needs Christ in her life, she needs to be ministered to. Too bad the opportunity was lost that night. I am praying for the saints and servants of God to STAND UP!!!!

I didn’t see the show but, wow! Let’s keep in mind that Jesus hung out with sinners, what do you think they were doing and saying in his presence? Let’s not beat up or condemn our brother Marvin Sapp who had an open door to get to Monique. How else are we going to reach those who are lost if we don’t go to them? Jesus went to where they were he didn’t wait for them to come to him. (Luke 5:29-31, Then Levi held a great banquet for Jesus at his house, and a large crowd of tax collectors and others were eating with them. But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law who belonged to their sect complained to his disciples, “Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and ’sinners’?” Jesus answered them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.)
Let’s be really careful not to be like the Pharisees, who Jesus himself took issue with.

what we really need to be careful of is being a people who compromise so easily for the world and make excuses for it. That interview was disgusting. She was so blasphemous even before the interview callin the Father, Son and Holy Spirit “them cats”. and to compare what Jesus did to the behavior of marvin sapp is ridiculous! The difference between the two is marvin sapp went as a celebrity to promote himself… Jesus on the other hand did not come to be a celebrity. in fact when He did miracles He would often tell people not to say anything. He came to seek and save the lost, to make them aware of their sins and call them to repentance. Marvin sapp laughed with Monique at her blasphemous jokes, never corrected her… Jesus on the other hand rebuked people and corrected them. He even cast demons out of people. marvin sapp lied to monique and told her to be herself… Jesus always told the truth and He said we must first deny ourselves to follow Him. we must also remember Jesus was holy, perfect, without sin and was not subject to being corrupted by the sin of this world. He was and is the solution for sin. Marvin had a chance to point monique to the savior, Jesus the only solution for her sins, and he didnt.
