You know those yearly statements you get from the government saying how much money you are eligible for when you retire? Well mine came yesterday, (those numbers were scary) and this time I looked at it very differently for the first time. A sudden reality chill came over my body. I started looking at my life a little closer than I have been in a long time. I took a deep breath and said to myself OMG I am almost 30. Then my mind ran ahead of me, you know those little whispers in your ear? It said “by thirty you should have had your masters by now, you need to invest better, are you going to have any more kids?”
The idea of turning thirty never bothered me before, but this morning as I lay in bed, it was all that I could think of. Was I trying to hold on two my twenties with a firm grip as it slips away? I know that thirty is not old, but there is something about thirty that says maturity, growth, AND YOUR NOT IN YOUR TWIENTIES. Time sure does fly by. Sometimes in life we just have to live for the day and even the moment, our lives are so special. With that being said I had to change my thought process really quick. (Sometimes we have to check our self’s) The devil likes to play mind games with you if you let him. So I had to say to myself you are blessed and highly favored, you are married to a beautiful man who loves you, you have healthy beautiful children, and a roof over your head, God has blessed you to be a blessing to others. Know!! Yes you have had some obstacles stand in the way, but that’s okay because you’re still living and it’s never too late to achieve any of your dreams. I had to remind myself in life you have to please yourself and not do things because you want to look pleasing or successful in the eyes of someone else. Sometimes we think we have our lives planed out the way we think it should go. Truth is God is the only author in our lives, so sometimes our plan isn’t Gods plan and it doesn’t mean you’re less than. Everything you go through in life is for a reason. Things will happen for you -in do season..
That’s what I have to remind myself.
So!!!! Thirty I hear you knocking and I’m ready to let you in………

sweet heart as you know better than anyone that thirty is right around the corner for me too. i say lets take on thirty with pleasure babe. its been a blessing to have spent the last 7 years with you and to have made it to our soon to be thirtieth year of age together. Turning thirty along with the current year 2010 will be a blessed year for the two of us. As we age older in life and maturity we’ll also mature in our faith in CHRIST.
